Toddler Booster Seats - Information

Toddler booster seats are usually the last type of kids car seats that your child will need to use. Toddler booster seats / cushions are for children from 3 years to approximately 12 years. Most booster seats and cushions are designed for children up to 36kg in weight. Your child must use the correct restraint for their weight and height so that they are comfortable as well as safe when travelling.
You may find it a bit difficult to come to a decision on which toddler booster seat you should choose. If you find it difficult to pick out a range of seats you like, then you could look into what features each range has, look at reviews online, and if you are still unsure you should purchase one manufactured by a brand that you know and trust. You may find that your friends and family can give you advice about booster seats and which ones they recommend.
Toddler booster seats all look very similar but may be different due to any added features. Cup holders seems to be a popular added feature with booster seats. Children love to think that they can put their things in these little 'pockets' where no one can find them! A lot of booster seats 'grow while your child grows', basically meaning you can adjust the height. Make sure you purchase one that has an adjustable headrest and adjustable armrests. This results in the car seat lasting much longer for your child.
You may find yourself thinking about why toddler booster seats have to be used. The reason your child still needs to use a child restraint is so that the adult vehicle seat belt is safe for them. The booster seat simply gives your child the 'boost' they need to get them positioned at the right height for the seat belt If it wasn't for the booster seat elevating your child, the seat belt would be very uncomfortable and dangerous for them. There would also be the possibilty of your child choking if the seat belt was to sit firmly across their neck and not their shoulder. It is important that the seat belt sits across your child's shoulder, and never across their neck. Toddler booster seats are very important to give your child the 'boost' they need for being able to use the seat belt safely.
